In the most turbulent of environments maintaining our calm and peace is challenging and confronting.
The weather is unstable, the blustering wind shakes the final crispy leaves off the tired trees. I just feel like I want to rug up and protect myself from the cold bursts of air that are rattling my calm.
In the most turbulent of environments maintaining our calm and peace is challenging and confronting. Our autonomic nervous system is on alert - fight/flight state raises our cortisol levels, we increase our dis-ease, we feel out of control, fear fills our veins and we no longer see the hope. In this state we close off our creativity, our genius. Our best version of ourselves is suppressed. We experience heightened pain and what we fear is reinforced and grows.
We choose how we feel, no one does this to us.
The environments we choose to experience and focus on will make it easier or harder to remain calm.
When we are in turbulent environments I remind you not to mirror the environment, to take a step above it. Take a meta level view and choose how to be your best version of yourself. Please navigate the turbulence with courage, grace and compassion.
When we are at our most calm, peaceful state, we are expansive and we are able to innovate, find solutions and truly live in our genius mode.
What emotional state are you choosing right now, hope or fear? How is this state helping you be your best? Are you in the best environment to help you be your best?
Become the peace and calm the world needs today. It starts with us.
